I came across a quote from a Buddhist practitioner that said: "If your compassion does not include yourself, it's incomplete."
How are you treating your tender heart right now?
Anxiety, stress, and sadness are all normal responses to what's happening in the world right now, but if we act from a place of fear we'll only perpetuate the problems.
When our minds and hearts are clear and peaceful, we can expect compassion to come through the actions we take.
So turn off the news for a while, meditate, take a walk, turn on the sounds of ocean waves, move your body, let go of your stories, listen more deeply, and really tune into the present moment.
For the circle of compassion to flow, we need to take care of each other, and also ourselves.
What's one way you can practice compassion for yourself today?
