Me jumping with excitement... Is not how I woke up this morning!
Oh no, hello anxiety! My eyes opened and I felt constriction around my heart and a sick feeling in my stomach.
The voice in my head commanded.
So I sat up, closed my eyes and started breathing. My mind was on over drive, with so many thoughts on replay.
I physically felt like my head and my body were disconnected. Better put, my head and my heart.
Thoughts about work, my love life, the weekend, family, money, summer, back to work, weekend, work, work...
But amidst the thinking, there was this one split second... I took a really deep breath in, and in that moment, I instantly felt calm.
The thoughts came again, rushing in, like wild fire, but a moment later, I did it again... deep breath in and the calm was there, straight away.
This, beauties is the power of breath and one of your best friends in anxious times.
