, you broke my heart just a little bit.
You are #wise
for your years, too wise in alot of ways & at 5 you're clearly realising that you're a little bit #different
to other children you're age. You see son, you have some issues with your #motorskills
which are similarly related to something called #cerebalpalsy
- but that's all words and doctors noise and none of that really matters. What matters is you. #Allofyou
Today at bedtime with a very tired sigh you asked me "mummy if I dlnt get toys, please can I learn to #jump
for my #birthday
" my eyes immediately filled with tears, you thought a moment longer "hmm maybe I will when I'm 10, I'll be bigger bigger then and I'll be able to do it, right?" My only answer was yes , how could I say I dont know and I held you right til you fell asleep.
In that moment #myheart
broken a little bit, it felt heavy and sad and scared for you.
This is the first time you've actively recognised your differences to other children, but it certainly wont be your last. What must be going on in your little #smart
brain? I've noticed over the last week you trying to do little jumps, has it been playing on your mind? Do you feel frustrated? How can I help?
My boy, the truth is I dont know if you'll ever physically jump but I do know that I will help you #jumpforthestars
, jump for every #dream
you ever have and hopefully #succeed
(and if not learn) and whilst as 5 year old Dominic all you want is the simple ability to jump for your birthday and the above is just words- I hope one day you'll realise that every "jump" you make is #extraspecial
and extra fought for
I love you my sweet boy 💙
